Electoral Technology Main Attraction at Nakuru ASK Show
 9th Jul 2019

The use of electoral technology was the main attraction that pulled large crowds to the IEBC Stand at the Nakuru ASK Show. The Agricultural Show opened its doors to members of the public on Wednesday 3rd July and ran until Sunday, July 7th, 2019.

The Show  attracted many exhibitors and show-goers alike drawn from agriculture, manufacturing, education, healthcare, trade and Government to showcase various services to members of the public. IEBC joined myriads of other exhibitors to reach out to stakeholders and provide electoral information while offering electoral services like voter registration.

The Nakuru County team led by the CEM, Silas Rotich, set up a thematic and flowing storyline which used murals, storyboards, audio visual and table exhibition to tell the IEBC story to visitors. IEBC has been placed as the center bolt that directly affects the development of all the other sectors including the big 4 Agenda.

Most of the visitors to the IEBC stand showed interest in the area of boundary delimitation and were interested in the criteria that will be applied during the delimitation process. The process is expected to be completed by 2024, which is the outer limit of the 12 years provided for in the Constitution.

Hundreds of School children also showed a lot of interest in electoral processes and IEBC assured them that the Commission is committed to supporting the enhancement of democracy and is ready to provide assistance in the conduct and management of school council elections, as part of the Commission's Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).

The Commission is cognizant of the fact that it is impossible to overstate the importance of an informed public to a successful electoral process and democracy. It is for this reason that it employs all strategies possible to maximize outreach and stakeholder engagement to offer the much-needed voter education and enhance public participation in the electoral process.
