IEBC Presides over KTTI Student Council Elections

On 15th February, 2019 IEBC in conjunction with Kisiwa Technical Training Institute Electoral Commission Board (KTTIECB) held the KTTI Institute's student council elections. The Electoral Board Commission consists of 8 members namely: 5 student commissioners, the Dean of Students, Deputy Chairman and Chairman of the Commission.

Elections in KTTI are held each year to choose students leaders in 8 elective positions as mandated in the Institute's Constitution. The positions are: Chairman, Vice chairman, Secretary General, CS Finance, Health Representative, Welfare, Entertainment and Games / Sports Representative.
 The elections were presided over by CEC Kabuchai - Benson Esuza, who was tasked with coordinating and overseeing all activities during the elections while being assisted by Simon Makokha - DRO Kabuchai Constituency. KTTI Electoral Commission Board deployed sixteen (16) clerks, four (4) security officers and other subordinate staff to help with facilitation and coordination of the election.

The Commission provided strategic and non-strategic materials, conducted voter education, monitored campaigns, trained election officials, accredited candidates' agents and finally set up two polling stations for use in the elections.

The results were as follows:

    Emmanuel Samtuk - Chairperson - 732 votes out of 1,141
    Maureen Simwa - Vice Chairperson - 673 votes out of 1,163
    Teddy Otieno - Sectary General - 532 votes out of 1,144
    Daniel Macharia - CS Finance - 756 votes out of 1,146
    Justin Sindani - Health Representative - 662 votes out of 1,142
    Edith Bulimo - Welfare - 533 votes out of 848
    Daniel Were - Entertainment Rep. - 724 votes out of 1,147
    Isaac Nzoka - Games and sport Rep. - 590 votes out of 1,148
