Voter turnout in Migori was 38.2 and Central Sakwa 42.19

Two By-elections, the Migori County Senate and Central Sakwa County Assembly Ward (CAW) in Bondo Constituency (Siaya County) were successfully conducted on Monday, 8th October, 2018. The Migori seat was won by Mr. George Ochilo Ayacko while the Central Sakwa CAW seat was won by Mr. Carlton Odhiambo Andiego.
Voter turnout in both by-elections was low, with 38.2 reported in Migori and 42.19 in Central Sakwa. The Commission did not transmit the results electronically, in real time, since this is not a requirement for non-presidential elections.
For the Migori Senatorial by-election, results from polling stations in form 38A were delivered to the Constituency Tallying Centres and after verification the Returning Officers filled form 38B. The Returning Officers deliver the form 38B to the County Returning Officer, who prepared the final results in form 38C.
