Why youth should participate

All around the world, young people everywhere want the same thing the chance to be prosperous, safe and active participants in shaping their societies and their world.

In a representative democracy, the youth voice is a very important one. Today, youth voters account for almost half of the voting population, which makes it a powerful voting force, yet older Kenyans are generally more likely to turn out and vote. Young voters are an incredibly diverse group and have great aspirations and vision for this country. The youth may have policy interests that differ from those of older voters so that is why youth should cast their ballots and have their voice heard.

Every vote counts.
