The Commission led by Ag. Director Voter Education and Partnerships (DVEP) Joyce Ekuam, who represented Commission Secretary/CEO Marjan Hussein Marjan, MBS hosted a delegation from the Center for Moots and Research-Africa (CMR-Africa) to discuss proposals for collaboration. The CMR-Africa team was led by Executive Director Elias Ouma.

In particular, the meeting focused on strategies for strengthening voter education, research, election observation, legal framework education among citizens for informed electoral choices among others.

Members also discussed introduction of themes around electoral laws, governance and democracy in moot court competitions conducted by CMR-Africa.

Ms. Ekuam noted that the proposed partnership would be mutually beneficial to the two institutions as they work together towards enhancing citizen engagement and participation in all electoral processes across the electoral cycle.
