Commission Scoops Top Prize at South Eastern Kenya National ASK Show in Machakos County

The Commission participated in the South Eastern Kenya National ASK Show in Machakos County from 7th to 10th June 2023. The theme of the Show was 'Promoting Climate Smart Agriculture & Trade Initiatives for Sustainable Economic Growth'.

The show provided the public with an opportunity to visit the Commission’s exhibition stand to learn more about the electoral processes and activities, and interact with the Biometric Voter Registration (BVR), Kenya Integrated Election Management System (KIEMS) kit, statutory forms and other electoral materials.

The Commission stand remained a beehive of activities as dignitaries and members of the public walked in and learned about the electoral processes and the Commission’s mandate. The Commission’s Acting Director for Voter Education and Partnerships, Jacktone Nyonje, who represented the Commission Secretary/CEO CPA Marjan H. Marjan exuded confidence that the show provided a great opportunity for the public to learn about the operations of IEBC as well as give feedback on the 2022 General Election.

The Commission’s exhibition stand scooped the best award in three different categories specifically; a) Government Ministries, b) Embracing Information Technology and Communication, and c) Promoting national cohesion and integration development.

Some of the notable dignitaries who visited the Commission’s stand include: Machakos County Governor, Hon. Wavinya Ndeti; Machakos County Commissioner, Josephine Ouko; and Chief Executive Officer of the Agricultural Society of Kenya (ASK), Batram Muthoka.
