The Commission held a consultative meeting with the Justice and Legal Affairs Committee (JLAC) of Parliament on Election Laws (Amendment) Bill, 2021 from 6 to 7 December 2021 at Pride Inn Paradise Resort in Shanzu, Mombasa. The bill proposes review of provisions of the Elections Act, 2011 in a bid to enhance efficacy in electoral management.

The Commission conducted a comprehensive review of laws that govern electoral processes. IEBC is keen in ensuring that a robust legal framework is in place to guide the conduct of a free, fair, transparent and credible general election.  

 The Commission’s Chairman, Wafula Chebukati, appreciated JLAC for their continued support; while JLAC Chairman, Hon. Kigano Muturi, lauded the Commission's effort in fast tracking the electoral reforms.
