The Commission was called upon to conduct the Mountain View School Students' Council election, which were held on 19th July, 2024. |

The Commission agreed to engage the school and conduct its students council election in order to inculcate the culture of democracy and encourage the students to participate in future elections once they attain the majority age. |
Several meetings were held between the school election committee and Roysambu Constituency IEBC office to plan for the activities preceding the election, which included nomination of candidates, voter education, election materials logistics and the actual voting. During the meetings, it was agreed that the school election committee would conduct nomination and vetting of candidates and oversee the campaigns while the Commission was to conduct voter education prior to the election day, provide election materials and supervise the electoral process. |

During the meetings, it was agreed that the positions for Governors and Class secretaries was to be conducted manually while election of the other positions were to be done electronically through the use of tablets to be provided by the school. Roysambu Constituency Senior Election Officer was named the Returning Officer assisted by Rachel Mariga the AEO. Each polling station had one Presiding Officer and a deputy, who were to be teachers, three clerks from the student’s population, one agent for each candidate while the parents body provided media and observers. |
The election was held between 09:00 and 14:00 hours and there was an impressive 99.9% voter turnout. This high level of participation demonstrated the students’ strong engagement and interest in the School’s leadership and activities. |
