IEBC to Partner with KBC to Preserve Electoral Heritage
 17th Jul 2023

The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) is in the process of partnering with the national broadcaster Kenya Broadcasting Corporation (KBC) in an ambitious move of organizing and preserving the Country’s heritage in regards to democratic and electoral processes.
The two entities held a meeting on 11th July 2023 in Nairobi to lay down the collaborative framework that will guide the process of identifying, packaging and preserving electoral and boundaries related information. IEBC is planning to establish an election knowledge management center. By setting up an elections library, museum and archive, interested persons will easily access and interact with electoral material and information.
During the meeting the KBC Acting Managing Director, Mr. Samuel Maina, was upbeat about the idea as future generations will be privileged to know the history of elections in Kenya. He promised to work closely with the Commission to ensure that the project is a success.
Ruth Kulundu, Deputy Commissions Secretary/CEO - Operations at IEBC, said that the project was long overdue and its importance to Kenya’s history can never be gainsaid. She committed to provide all the necessary support and resources to preserve the country’s electoral heritage.
