Voters engage with IEBC at the Nairobi International Trade Fair (NITF)
 8th Oct 2019

As has become a tradition, once again IEBC took its outreach strategies to the Mwananchi by setting up a one-stop-shop stand that showcased electoral processes and information. The Commission  participated in this year's Nairobi International Trade Fair (NITF) at Jamhuri Showground in Kibra Constituency that opened its door to the public on Monday September 30th and closed on Saturday October 5th, 2019. NITF is the largest Trade Fair in the East African Region and brings together regional and global exhibitors to display and demonstrate their services and products to an ever growing audience. This year, over 500 exhibitors  participated in the Show which is ran under the theme "Promoting Innovation and Technology in Agriculture and Trade".

The Trade fair was held in Kibra Constituency which coincidentally will be having a by-election on November 7th, 2019 to elect their Member of National Assembly. Members of the public from the Constituency who visited the stand were mostly interested in checking their registration details and seeking to understand the Voter registration procedure.

Boundary Delimitation was another area of great interest from members of the public. They were interested in knowing whether, when and which criteria will be employed by the Commission in conducting the delimitation process.

School children  showed great interest in the Stand, they spent time reading the contents of detailed textual and pictorial Storyboards especially the board on CSR that portrays our efforts and commitment in conducting student elections. They were also interested in the mock polling station where they were issued with sample ballot papers and got to 'vote'.
